A fully integrated timber company in Vanua Levu
Established in 1979, Waiqele Sawmill has grown into an integrated company specialising in native timber harvesting, milling and value-added processing.
Located on the northern island of Fiji in a region strongly supported by forestry and farming, the company employs a stable and committed workforce sourced from the local community and surrounding districts.
Our approximately 10-hectare site brings together log-yard operations, sawmilling, kiln drying, moulding, treatment, covered dry storage and distribution facilities.

More than four decades of growth
1979 — Established
Waiqele Sawmill begins as a family-owned and managed business in Labasa.
Growth in local supply
The company expands its production and services for Fiji’s construction and timber market.
Export development
Market access grows to include New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, New Caledonia and Tonga.
Integrated operations
Harvesting, cartage, milling, drying, treatment, profiling, grading and packing are managed within one operation.
Stewardship, quality and service
Responsible Forestry
Operations are managed in line with government requirements and accepted forestry practices, with periodic oversight by the Ministry of Forestry.
Recognised Performance
Waiqele was awarded Forester of the Year in 2010 and Native Forest Harvester of the Year in 2012.
